My parents called me Sandy from birth. I changed it to Sandie in 2nd grade to be different. I just can't bear being the same as everyone else.

When we named our son, we thought hard about what he'd be called vs what he was named. We ended up calling him Duncan Scott. Partly because it's a very Scottish name and we're really into that, but also because there aren't a lot of ways to shorten Duncan. It's a unique name without being hard to pronounce (Josiah!) or spell (Sandie). Plus, if he doesn't like it, he can use Scott...or DS, I suppose, but that just doesn't sound right to me. So far, he's living up to the name, although he doesn't have an obsession with donuts or a claymore with which to strike off the heads of fellow immortals.

Re: drew olanoff dot com. - Why I go By Drew

Awesomesauce is kind of passive, whereas Killah P is like YEAH DONT EFF WITH ME BEETCH.

Re: drew olanoff dot com. - Why I go By Drew

lol. not quite as leet as awesomesauce but it works...

Re: drew olanoff dot com. - Why I go By Drew

Killah P, eh?

I like it.

Re: drew olanoff dot com. - Why I go By Drew

How about dipshit? My first name is J.osiah and my middle name is P.reston. I always wanted to go by JP, like my grandfather, but it never stuck. I am the 5th generation of my family name and well, I just go by Preston. My first name is pro nounced - JOE SIGH AH but apparently everyone else in the word seems to think that it is pronounced Josh, Joshua, Hosiah - so I said to hell with it....call me Killah P., it gives me street cred and people dont jack with folks who have the word Killah in their name because they would get killed :)

Re: drew olanoff dot com. - Why I go By Drew

I get way too many versions of my name thrown at me. Whenever the my mom calls it's always Christopher or another version of my name which I won't mention because I flat out hate it. Dad tends to just go with Chris but will throw in Christopher from time to time, but mostly when angry. Whenever filling out something where I feel need to be formal, full name. Signing something like a check, just Chris.

whenever hanging out with friends or co-workers, it tends to just be the last name, however some (mostly females) will call me Chris.

Probably the weirdest thing get called is Christo. If you can't figure it out, foreigners from the pizza shop I worked at called me that. Lastly, some idiot in high school thought it would be "original" to call me Topher. Stupid.

Re: drew olanoff dot com. - Why I go By Drew

Ohhhh, I like that. Good stuff Zach. (Not Zachary)

Re: drew olanoff dot com. - Why I go By Drew

Easy, Zachary is what people call me when I don't want to talk to them. It's like a secret code. If I tell you my name is Zachary, I either a.) don't like you or b.) don't trust you..... Aside from the 'rents, use it.
